Shipping to the Caribbean

Shipping is astonishingly cheap. A 28 foot container with a height of 8 feet 6 inches can be shipped from Miami to George Town, Grand Cayman for 1886 USD.

A 40 foot container can be shipped for 2900 USD. Basically, that is a whole US tractor-trailer load shipped across the ocean for less than $3000.

Makes China easier to understand. Once on a container...it can be moved anywhere on the island and unloaded for about $400 USD.

But Americans should remember the duty to bring goods ashore over $350 in value is 27%. Neverless, whole houses are often furnished at stores like "Rooms to go" in Miami which sells a whole house full of furniture--usually about $40,000...at 1 year same as cash. The Cayman bankers would be flabbergasted....think Gringots...in appearance and response to customers.
