Going to go over to Jamaica on Friday night. Air Jamaica from Grand Cayman to Kingston. Stay in New Kingston near the embassies...about 15 miles from Port Royale which is near the Manley international airport. Planning to just walk around, take some pictures...back Sunday night. Air Jamaica flies Airbus 320s which is what US Air uses from Charlotte. US Air now flies to 25 islands in the Caribbean giving American a run for their bankruptcy.
Jamaica, an island of 2.5-3 million people is more charged than Cayman of course...Kingston is a city of roughly 1 million--the most southern English language city in the New World of any size.
Interestingly, Barbados is further away from where I am sitting than Blacksburg. The Caribbean is an odd region that way...distances east to west are vast.
Kingston is 313 miles due East by Southeast of Grand Cayman. Go another 200 miles to the East and you'd be in Haiti.
