Not much outside BBC worth watching these days I find. CNN seems obsessed with the elections in a way I am just not. All OK...Obama superior person and mind to my views...others disagree. Enough said. I wish Americans could better judge probity.
But (anyway) I am enjoying HBO's John Adams series. I've seen all up to the end of the war. Excellent acting...excellent history. Great show. Adams is very admirable here...a different impression than what I have had...Jefferson, cool and aloof...perhaps too much so.
I like the fact that this is not hagiography. These are flawed people (everyone) and they are wondrous brave at the same time. Adams particularly likable as one might guess. Laura Linney is just superb.
