Low riders (cars jacked down with little suspension) make more sense near beaches. There is often traffic congestion--particularly as cabbies try to lure in cruise ship patrons to take them to tourist spots--so you sit and move slowly. This is frustrating with high petrol costs--sold in Imperial gallons...not U.S. ones. So low riding is a way to open up your car to pedestrians, hang out in the weather, and be seen.
Miami is the biggest influence on Cayman. Perhaps it is the level New York City influences the Jersey shore...or probably less so.
Miami is considered dirty, mean and fabulously fun by Caymanians...some go nearly monthly when they get "rock fever."
